CREW DAY GUIDEMorning drive10 AM setup proposed

Updated October 20, 9:31 AM Central · participant confirmations reported by Christian

Overview0 of 13 timeline blocks complete

Current production directionRoom, cameras, backup light and the protected 15-minute B-roll blocks.

Room and light: prefer a larger room with background separation. Carry a backup light for bright sunlight or a difficult room. Confirm the exact kit before departure.

Interview cameras: a wider environmental A-camera can show the room. If using a second camera, make it a tighter, longer-focal-length side angle with a softly blurred background. Choose lens, distance and aperture for the actual room.

Eyeline check: keep both cameras on the same side of the interview line and have the participant look toward the interviewer, just off the main lens. The tighter angle favors the shadow side. Confirm the physical left/right placement together in the recorded test; do not cross the line between shots.

Each 15-minute B-roll block: start immediately after the interview. Capture a brief hallway walk, office activity and a real applicable task from the shot list. Prioritize a real-time wide / medium / detail sequence and genuine interaction. Share facility coverage across participants. Take one or two intentional slow-motion shots only if time remains; protect the pack, drive and setup buffers.

Gimbal: Stryde’s Blackmagic or Aaron’s rig was discussed. Christian’s acceptance of Aaron’s rig is conditional on a quick, comfortable changeover. Exact rig and turnaround remain to confirm; do not add another setup burden.

Meetup and travel: Studio meetup 5:30 AM confirmed by Christian. The crew have coordinated travel directly; the exact departure clock was not provided for this guide. Both travel legs begin/end at Stryde Studios. The saved non-live road estimate is about 4 hours 30 minutes to Grand Terrace: 5:30 AM to 10 AM leaves no loading, stops or traffic buffer, so 10 AM setup is at risk. Confirm the route and arrival with Christian; preserve interview starts and setup buffers. Return/unload around 8:30 PM is a planning estimate, not a confirmed arrival promise. Verify two compatible media-copy destinations and the handoff owner before departure.

Offload capacity: expect a 2 TB portable SSD if the combined footage from both cameras fits with headroom. Aim for no more than about 1.6 TB on that drive. If close to capacity, choose the larger 5 TB HDD option below. Neither drive is purchased or reserved. Protect the morning arrival buffer; verify two independent copy destinations before recording.

Schedule hold: the saved guide uses 2:05–2:35 for coverage, essential pickups or delay buffer and 2:35–3:15 for media verification and pack-out. A separate handoff lists 2:05 lunch, 2:35 pickups, 2:50 media, 3:05 pack and 3:15 departure. Resolve this final-hour difference before issue. No schedule has been shifted. The client window ends 3 PM; later room use still needs approval.

Crew review copy. Confirm the rig, room access and final-hour plan with Christian before issue.

CURRENT STEP

Finish the departure check

Confirm the morning pickup, access, kit and media handoff.

Review copy. Finish the confirmations first.

Christian reports Nefi Guzman confirmed for 11:45 AM and Aaron De La Torre confirmed for 1:30 PM. Christian reports Alfredo texted that he will be ready and available for the 11 AM interview. These are user-reported updates, not a fresh participant-message check. Facility access remains separate. Grand Terrace 10 AM entry and Village 12:55 PM room access remain unverified. A 3:15 PM departure/late checkout requires permission beyond the client’s 3 PM window.

The planned crewTrevor leads the interviews. Aaron Resop supports camera, audio and moves.

Trevor: lead the interview, camera look, pacing and coverage checks.

Aaron Resop: monitor camera and audio while Trevor interviews; help with lighting, moves and cleared B-roll when the interview is covered.

Christian: producer and creative direction. Confirm attendance or remote check-ins and the urgent decision route.

Finalize roles, actual kit and full trip terms on the crew call.

Protect the essential coverageThree 20-minute interviews, clean audio and both facility signs/exteriors.

Use shared facility footage across Alfredo and Nefi. About 18 to 25 distinct usable B-roll clips is a planning target, not a reason to rush an interview.

If time slips, trim optional inserts, use the 2:05–2:35 buffer and notify Christian and Morgan. Preserve the move and audio checks.

Capture a quick McAllen geography view only from an appropriate stationary position within the available route and time. Do not film while driving.

Before departure

Studio meetup 5:30 AM confirmed by Christian. The crew have coordinated travel directly; the exact departure clock was not provided for this guide. Both travel legs begin/end at Stryde Studios. Frame rate + syncPROPOSED: 23.976 project / interviews / real-time; 59.94 optional slow motion.

PROPOSED · Confirm before rolling. The earlier treatment suggested 23.976; the reviewed package does not establish an approved numeric FPS.

Use	Proposed setting	What the crew does
Project + delivery	23.976 fps	24000/1001; RED Project Time Base = 23.98. Keep this fixed.
Interviews + real-time B-roll	23.976 capture	6K R3D proposed. Camera record FPS matches project; no off-speed dialogue.
Intentional slow-motion B-roll	59.94 capture	Project stays 23.98. Playback 23.976 = 2.5× slow motion (40%). Not the whole shoot.
Shutter + sound	180° start · 48 kHz	About 1/48 normal / 1/120 slow. 24-bit audio; monitor primary/backup and test playback.

Check the actual body.

Original KOMODO: R3D maximum 40 fps at 6K 17:9, 60 fps at 4K 17:9. Use a tested 4K window for 59.94; framing becomes tighter. Do not assume 6K/59.94 or 6K/48 in this full-height format.

KOMODO-X: R3D maximum 80 fps at 6K 17:9, 120 fps at 4K 17:9. 6K/59.94 is within the published ceiling; confirm exact body, firmware, format and qualified media.

Protect sync sound.

Match actual recording rates on every interview camera. Use 23.976 NDF timecode on compatible camera/recorder/timecode devices; if unavailable, clap/slate every take and keep guide audio. Timecode alone is not genlock; check for drift on a test.

KOMODO firmware 1.5+ supports varispeed audio in separate WAV files; older firmware may not. KOMODO-X also stores varispeed audio separately. This does not make slowed video lip-sync correctly. Preserve the whole clip/RDC folder.

Test the actual lights.

At each room and any FPS, shutter or dimmer change, record and play a 10-second test under the actual facility lights, LEDs and screens. Start at 180°. For 60 Hz practical-light flicker, test 1/60 at 23.976 (about 144°) or 1/120 at 59.94. LED/PWM behavior varies: these are test options, not guarantees. Re-light/reframe or seek approval if unresolved; keep the project rate fixed.

Return to normal after slow motion.

No off-speed interviews, dialogue or sync-sound actions. Label intended slow-motion clips. Keep the RED Project Time Base at 23.98 when capture changes to 59.94. Restore capture to 23.98 and verify sound before the next real-time take.

Post handoff

Set the edit before importing media. Keep master, cutdowns and interview library at 23.976 unless Christian approves a delivery requirement. True 24.000 and true 60.000 are different rates. Compose 16:9 and vertical-safe; test R3D quality and media before committing.

Official RED references, checked October 20, 2026: RED timebase · capture FPS · KOMODO limits · X limits · varispeed audio · flicker test. Body, mode and media still need on-set verification.

Camera, audio and mediaTest the exact kit; two verified copies and original cards retained.

Camera and audio test

Confirm exact KOMODO model, lenses/adapters, ND, qualified media/readers, batteries and chargers. Agree R3D acquisition and the monitoring transform with Christian. Use the camera RAW exposure meters; control actual light, aperture or ND for clipping. Lock white balance for the room.

Run a recorded test at the chosen settings, then play picture and sound. Verify the actual primary/backup microphones, recorder and camera guide path; match mic/line level and monitor the correct channels on headphones. Original KOMODO and KOMODO-X audio connections and channel routing differ, so check the exact body.

Two copies and a handoff receipt

Assign the media owner, preserve complete card/clip structure and make checksum-verified copies to two separate devices. Folder counts alone are insufficient: spot-play picture and sound. Keep original cards until Christian acknowledges the handoff, and confirm destination/deadline before departure.

Full manufacturer links and detailed workflow are retained in the separate production treatment. Recording targets and settings require the actual camera test.

A simple interview setupProposed positions only. Adapt to the actual room and agreed kit.

Proposed Aaron kit: amaran F22 soft key near the subject; three STORM 80c units used selectively for edge/background detail and reserve. Exact F22 c/x, modifiers, supports and power still to confirm. Ask Trevor/Aaron about black duvetyne/solids and stands/clamps.

Room rule: get room/window photos, choose the quietest controllable space, leave background depth and check blinds/curtains. Plan on the existing kit for controlled interviews and light B-roll. A bigger light is conditional on an unavoidable bright window room; agree it with Christian first.

Choose a quiet, cleared background. Keep Trevor’s eyeline close to the lens, set one consistent look and monitor sound throughout. Record a test and room tone at both buildings. A second camera is optional if the agreed kit and staffing support it.

Interviews and their shots

Open the person you are filming. Each interview includes the five core prompts, role followups, contact and B-roll plan. Checking a capture here updates the same item in Day.

Look and reference bank

The same five prompts for everyoneMorgan sent these draft questions to participants on October 16.

Tell me your name, role and the building we are in.
What does your day look like when it comes to medications?
Think of a medication issue Carvajal handled. What happened?
When you call Carvajal, who picks up and what happens next?
What would you tell a facility leader choosing a pharmacy?

Ask for full sentences that include enough context to stand on their own. Follow one real example with “What happened next?” or “Can you give me a specific example?”

Director of Nursing or Assistant DONConfirm the actual title before choosing followups.

What does a good delivery morning look like for your nurses?
Tell me about a late night or weekend need. How did it go?
How does working with Carvajal change things for your residents?

Administrator or Executive DirectorConfirm the actual title before choosing followups.

Why did your building choose Carvajal, and why do you stay?
What does customer service mean to you in a pharmacy partner?
If you've used their consulting, what did it add? (Keep brief.)

Floor or charge nurse, med aideConfirm the actual title before choosing followups.

When the tote arrives, what happens next on your floor?
Tell me about a driver or pharmacist who went out of their way.
What's one thing you never have to worry about with Carvajal?

Close and check before releaseUse these closers, then verify sound and any missing answer.

Is there anything I didn't ask that you want to say?
In a sentence, what is Carvajal to your building?

Do not hand someone praise to repeat, prompt competitor comparisons or invite uncleared clinical claims.

The look and lighting planNatural corporate documentary; practical rooms, gentle contrast and graphics-only brand color.

Style reference: Tom Shaw / high-rise via Aputure, display crop. Neutral corporate interview; room/lighting package differ. Not Carvajal footage.

Detail reference: GOV.UK / DHSC public-page image. Unrelated pharmacy; framing reference only.

Working colors: Carvajal logo navy #002D56, website blue #5593BD and white. Use brand colors mainly in titles, map and closing graphics; brand guide pending. Keep actual facility colors, natural skin and neutral whites. No matching props or wardrobe required.

Target: natural documentary with a clean corporate finish. Eye-level medium close-up, interviewer close to lens, realistic skin and gentle contrast. Use the room as it is; reframe or tidy small distractions where permitted. No set dressing or brand-colored furniture/wardrobe needed. Keep face/action safe for vertical crops.

Film context: family archive → one delivery → facility voices across Texas → logo/Scripture/QR close. Tomorrow is the McAllen voice/facility portion; pharmacy packing and final-mile scenes are separate.

Photo sources: Aputure / Tom Shaw · GOV.UK / DHSC · Carvajal public brand assets. Photos are private review references, not approved final-film footage.

The linked cards above carry the capture checklist. Plan about 6 to 8 useful facility shots per site and 2 or 3 personal inserts. Hold shots about 6 to 10 seconds, reuse shared coverage and avoid duplicate setups.

Keep patient details out of frame.

Confirm filming permissions and releases. Do not include readable labels, records, screens or whiteboards. Residents appear only with the required signed consent.

People and places

People, roles and locations for the shoot are listed below. Confirm Alfredo’s surname and each room/access contact before recording.

The checked road route is about 4 miles and 8 minutes without live traffic. Use the 20 minute driving allowance and recheck live traffic before departure. The overall move is 70 minutes. Protected Nefi B-roll to 12:20, pack 15 and drive 20 give 12:55 arrival and 35 minutes to reset for 1:30. Confirm earlier Village room entry before issue; do not quietly cut the fifteen-minute B-roll block.

Offload drive options

Choose from the combined footage size of both cameras, not the camera count. Expect a 2 TB SSD if the total is comfortably below capacity; aim for no more than about 1.6 TB to leave headroom. If even close, move to the larger HDD. The locally verified fallback is 5 TB, rather than the 4 TB size discussed.

Preferred · 2 TB portable SSD

SanDisk 2 TB USB-C portable SSD · Best Buy North McAllen
8012 N 10th St, McAllen, TX.

Larger capacity · 5 TB portable HDD

Seagate Expansion 5 TB portable HDD · Best Buy McAllen
700 S Jackson Rd, McAllen, TX.

Neither is purchased or reserved. Availability was last checked October 19 around 8:28 PM Central. Verify stock and price before travel or purchase. The HDD copies more slowly and should be written while stationary. Do not promise a complete, verified copy during the return drive.

Keep complete card/clip structure. Make checksum-verified copies to two separate devices, then spot-play picture and sound. Keep original cards until verified backups and Christian’s acknowledged handoff. Protect the morning arrival/setup buffer; do not add a shopping stop without enough travel time.

Wrap and protect the footage

Review target:3:15 PM site wrap; contingency to 4 PM only with facility permission. The original window ends 3 PM. Return travel is additional.

Confirm three complete interviews, both facility signs/exteriors and any missing pickups.
Verify two separate media copies, folder/file counts and sample playback of picture and sound.
Retain original cards; do not format until Christian confirms handoff.
Record full names, roles, facility, release status and any audio or missing-coverage issues.
Send Christian the completion summary using the agreed communication channel.
Confirm the return driver and travel plan before leaving.

Folder counts alone do not prove a good copy. Check both destinations, spot-play picture and sound, and get the handoff acknowledged before formatting cards.

STRYDE STUDIOSCARVAJAL · INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

Ask everyone

Morgan’s October 16 participant prep uses these five draft prompts. Ask for full sentences and one real example. Record the complete interview cleanly for the interview library.

Tell me your name, role and the building we are in.
What does your day look like when it comes to medications?
Think of a medication issue Carvajal handled. What happened?
When you call Carvajal, who picks up and what happens next?
What would you tell a facility leader choosing a pharmacy?

Twenty-minute interview flow

0–2: name, role, comfort. 2–13: core prompts and the strongest real example. 13–18: clarify details and get complete answers. 18–20: close, check sound and pick up missing lines.

Optional followups, after confirming the role

Director of Nursing or Assistant DON

What does a good delivery morning look like for your nurses?
Tell me about a late night or weekend need. How did it go?
How does working with Carvajal change things for your residents?

Administrator or Executive Director

Why did your building choose Carvajal, and why do you stay?
What does customer service mean to you in a pharmacy partner?
If you've used their consulting, what did it add? (Keep brief.)

Floor or charge nurse, med aide

Close: Is there anything I didn't ask that you want to say? Then: In a sentence, what is Carvajal to your building?

Do not script praise, compare named competitors or prompt uncleared clinical claims. Keep patient details out of answers and picture.

STRYDE STUDIOSCARVAJAL · LOOK + LIGHTING

Natural documentary. Corporate clarity.

Natural skin, neutral whites and gentle contrast in the actual facility. Eye-level medium close-up; interviewer near lens; face/action safe for vertical crops. Reframe or tidy small distractions where permitted; no set dressing or brand-colored props/wardrobe required.

Use the proposed kit simply.

F22: soft key close to the subject.

Three STORM 80c: selective edge/background light and reserve. Use only what the frame needs.

Using Aaron’s lights. Verify F22 c/x, modifiers, supports and power; check Trevor/Aaron for duvetyne/solids with stands/clamps. Fixture ownership alone does not confirm a complete working kit.

Choose a room we can control.

Get room/window photos and confirm blinds or curtains. Keep the background tidy, readable and quiet.

Plan around the existing kit. Bright windows may require room/light control, another room or a separately agreed larger fixture. No larger rental is assumed.

Photo references: Tom Shaw interview via Aputure; unrelated pharmacy detail via GOV.UK / DHSC. The interview reference used larger fixtures. STRYDE STUDIOSCARVAJAL · COVERAGE + TECHNICAL CHECKS

Get the essentials. Protect them.

The 90-second film connects family archive photos, one delivery, voices across Texas and a logo/Scripture/QR close. Tomorrow supplies McAllen’s voices and facility coverage. Pharmacy packing, driver handoff and nurse/resident scenes are separate.

B-roll: protect fifteen minutes per person. Get 2–3 distinct personal inserts and share 6–8 useful facility shots per site. Hold shots about 6–10 seconds with edit handles; capture complete actions and natural sound.

Facility coverage, at each site

Readable facility sign and clean exterior wide.
Approved common-area wide.
Real staff workflow in a medium shot.
Relevant clean task/hands detail.
Approved interaction or natural greeting.

Each person

A natural arrival or short walk.
A real action related to an answer.
A clean detail, with no readable patient information.

No uncleared residents, readable labels, records, screens or whiteboards. Confirm filming areas and required releases.

Camera, audio and light

Exact KOMODO body, lenses/adapters, ND, compatible media/readers, batteries and chargers.
Agree R3D settings/monitoring with Christian. Lock room WB and check RAW exposure; control actual light/aperture/ND for clipping.
Primary/backup sound, correct mic/line level and channel monitoring, recorder/camera guide path and headphones.
F22 + three 80c lights, diffusion/grid, stands, weights, cables and power.
Record and play a test at each building; listen for HVAC, fan and clothing noise.

Media handoff

Assign the media owner and confirm the actual recipient, destination and deadline.
Keep full card/clip structure. Make checksum-verified copies to two separate devices.
Spot-play picture and sound; counts alone do not verify a usable copy.
Keep original cards until Christian acknowledges handoff. Log names, titles, releases and any technical gaps.

Detailed lighting diagrams and RED manufacturer workflow remain in the separate production treatment. Exact settings need the actual camera test; original KOMODO and KOMODO-X audio connections/routing differ.

STRYDE STUDIOSCARVAJAL · FRAME RATE + SYNC

One project rate. Deliberate slow motion.

Test the actual lights.

Return to normal after slow motion.

Post handoff

Official RED references, checked October 20, 2026: RED timebase · capture FPS · KOMODO limits · X limits · varispeed audio · flicker test. Body, mode and media still need on-set verification.

[ ] Confirm the proposed 23.976 project/delivery rate with Christian and verify the exact camera body/mode before rolling.
[ ] Match every interview camera to 23.976 (RED 23.98), confirm 48 kHz sound, and play a recorded sync test.
[ ] Play a flicker test under actual room lights and dimmers; restore 23.98 capture after any off-speed take.
